Howard Smith - US PRESSWIRE

The Philadelphia Phillies have three prospects in Major League Baseball’s top 100 list. Trevor May leads the group at No. 54, followed by Jesse Biddle at No. 78 and Brody Colvin at 80.

May is a single-A pitcher who excelled for the Clearwater Threshers last season, going 10-8 with a 3.63 ERA and 208 strikeouts in 151.1 innings pitched. May has three good pitches, and used them to hold opposing hitters to just a .221 batting average in 2011.

Biddle was the team’s first-round pick in 2010. He is a lefty who was 7-8 with a 2.98 ERA for the Lakewood BlueClaws last year, striking out nearly a batter per inning.

Colvin has dealt with back problems recently, but he still has a ton of potential. He had a rough 2011, going 3-8 with a 4.71 ERA, but still has a fastball in the mid-90s and projects to be a middle of the rotation starter at the major league level.
