Barcelona visited a Rayo Vallecano side who were still searching for their first league win of the new La Liga campaign.

Well, it is just too bad that they had to host the reigning and deserving league champions.

Pedro Rodriguez scored the initial goal of his very first career hat trick for his club in the first half before Rayo were unable to equalize from the penalty spot as keeper Victor Valdez made one of his whopping nine total saves on the night.

After scoring their second just two minutes into the second half, Barca would go on to win 4-0 as their opponents were unable to score thanks to the man-of-the-match performance from their brilliant goalkeeper.

Lionel Messi was unable to score tonight for the fist time in a long time against this lowly Rayo club, but he did set up the opener brilliantly by dancing away from two guys then sending Rodriquez through to slot home seconds later.

The team no longer plays with their usual Tiki-Taka style of the sport, but instead possesses the ball just enough to constantly create chances. They now tend to use the wings a lot more with Rodriguez down the right while new boy Neymar rules that left flank.

The reason why this new style works so well is because they do not face too much pressure off the ball against these types of opponents. It will be interesting to see how they will fare against bigger opponents in Europe as well as their biggest rival in the league, Real Madrid.

Regardless of their style, they have now been on on a role in the league with a 5-0 start of perfection. They solely sit atop the league and will wait to see if Atletico Madrid can do the same when they face off.
