Jose Mourinho will look to return to Germany with a triumph as he will lead Chelsea against Schalke 04 in a UEFA Champions League fixture.

Chelsea started the tournament losing against a surprising Basel side, but recovered against Steaua and have three points in two matches. They will look their second straight win visiting a German side that carries a perfect performance after two games.

Cultured midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng will continue to be Schalke’s biggest weapon offensively as he’s the engine that keeps the team running. The Ghana international, who returned to the Bundesliga after a successful stint with AC Milan, is decisive at both ends of the pitch, and most of the team’s chances will have him as the focal point of attack.

Chelsea’s biggest asset is in the bench with Mourinho’s presence as the Portuguese tactician has already won the trophy twice and reached the final with the Blues in 2008. Inside the pitch, however, this team is led by Frank Lampard. The England international is the heart and soul of the Stamford Bridge outfit and he will be the leader of a team that will look to make a run to the Final next season.

Prediction: Schalke 04 1-3 Chelsea

The Blues are slowly playing the way they know how, and that’s dangerous for any team. Schalke will have the advantage of playing in front of their fans, but it won’t be much of a factor as Chelsea are used to playing with the people against them. The experience and individual quality will be what will give the English side the edge in a match that’s poised to be very interesting.
