Manchester City faced a tough test in Moscow as they visited CSKA, who aren’t considered one of the top teams in Europe but are always a threat due to their abundance of experienced players. The Citizens got off to a slow start, but Argentina international Sergio Agüero enlightened their way as he was the star of a comeback that saw the Premier League outfit come out on top two goals to one.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men weren’t able to showcase their usual passing style through the first 30 minutes, and that led them to be down on the scoreboard after Zoran Tosic found the back of the net as it seemed like it would be a long day for The Citizens.

Enter Agüero.

The former Independiente star was able to draw level only two minutes after Tosic’s strike with a well taken shot near the goal line and put the visitors in front with a nice header from close range after a cross from Álvaro Negredo.

Agüero’s performance not only gave Manchester City the three points, but it was also a statement of how the Argentinean has grown his role into the team. With several rumors of a move back to Spain as Barcelona are reportedly keen to sign him, the forward looks to be in the best shape of his career as he’s been scoring important goals for both his team and country. He seems to be getting better after each game.

Agüero’s goal is to lift more and more trophies with Manchester City as he has reportedly declared that he feels they are on the right track to becoming a perennial contender for every trophy they dispute. It’s safe to say that with as the focal point of attack, Manchester City will continue being a top force in Europe for years to come.

And his performance against CSKA is there for everyone to see it.
