UEFA Champions League Preview: Real Madrid-Galatasaray
Real Madrid is close to clinching their berth in the next round of the tournament, and they will look to get it when they host Galatasaray in a spectacular UEFA Champions League match.
After four games in the group stage, Los Merengues are leading the group with 10 points and Galatasaray are sitting in second place with four points. They will look to take a giant step towards the next round at Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid won’t have Cristiano Ronaldo in their lineup, but they have several players that are capable to replace his production in this game. Gareth Bale should have a bigger role on the offensive side of the ball, and Angel Di María could start in place of Ronaldo, but the one that will have more attention is Karim Benzema. The French striker will be the focal point of Real Madrid’s offense, and he could have a big night if he’s given enough space.
Galatasaray, on the other hand, will rely on the experience of the duo starring Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba. They are the best players in the squad and even though Galatasaray have quality players all over the pitch, that duo is supposed to carry them in the competition due to their superior skill set and overall experience.
Prediction: Real Madrid 3-1 Galatasaray
Los Merengues are definitively the better side even if Ronaldo is not on the pitch, and they will look to establish that difference early on. The Turkish side might be able to find the back of the net, but they won’t get anything out of the game.
