2013 Fantasy Football Profile: Chris Givens’ Unlimited Upside

NameChris Givens

TeamSt. Louis Rams

Position: Wide Receiver

Years Pro: 1

Draft Stock: (Rising) Ever since Danny Amendola booked for Foxborough, the Rams have been talking up Givens like crazy. Therefore, fantasy football owners are starting to look at his 2012 numbers and see him as a total sleeper candidate. Givens is a guy you should have circled in all of your fantasy draft magazines.

2012 fantasy impact: Givens had a spectacular stretch in 2012 where he went five straight weeks with at least one catch of 50 yards or more. The Rams found lighting in a bottle with Givens and hammered teams by targeting him in big-play situations. Unfortunately, Givens only hauled in three touchdowns.

Best-case scenario: The Rams’ offense emerges as Tavon Austin clogs the middle of the field and Givens connects with quarterback Sam Bradford on the long ball. An All-Pro nod for Givens surfaces after a 1,000 yard season.

Worst-case scenario: Due to his inability to catch balls over the middle, Givens is unable to be a breakout player. He repeats what he did in 2012, yet no one around the NFL is impressed considering his endless potential.

Where you should draft him: Givens is a really tough player to gauge. Some fantasy football owners are really high on him, while others don’t believe the hype. However, the ninth round is a safe bet for this wide receiver.
