Travis Kelce Fantasy Football 2013 Profile: Chiefs Offer Great Opportunity For Rookie

Name: Travis Kelce

Team: Kansas City Chiefs

Position: Tight End

Years Pro: Rookie

Draft stock: (Stagnant) Ever since Tony Gonzalez left the Chiefs high and dry by booking to Atlanta, the folks in Kansas City have been desperate for a play-making tight end. With that being said, Kelce coming to town means that the Chiefs are likely more devoted to getting the tight end involved, which means the 6-foot-5 rookie could be a top-notch fantasy football option this year.

2012 fantasy impact: Kelce burst onto NFL team’s draft radar last season as he poured in a wonderful senior season with the Cincinnati Bearcats. In fact, Kelce was named to the All-Big East first team after hauling in eight touchdowns and averaging 16 yards per reception.

Best-case scenario: Chiefs head coach Andy Reid brings a pass-heavy attack to the “Show Me State” and Kelce breaks out like crazy. Alex Smith falls in love with Kelce’s ability to make big plays inside the red zone and two connect from the get-go.

Worst-case scenario: Either Tony Moeaki or Anthony Fasano emerge as better options than Kelce as the second-round pick is forced to the sidelines for a bulk of his rookie campaign.
