NFL's Top 5 Games of Week 5

Week 5 of NFL action features several games between teams that are on the verge of being contenders, which means desperate play, even this early in the season.

I mean really, when the defending champs are struggling to get above .500, you know things are bad for that city and great for the league because all of the teams are so balanced. It also makes for some great football, just like the game between the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks from Week 4, which was so emotional that it ended with a Matt Schaub jersey being burned outside Reliant Stadium. And to make things better, both Houston and Seattle are both featured in this week's list of the best NFL games to watch.

We have other Super Bowl contenders, including a trio of undefeated teams in games that will threaten their perfect records through one quarter of the season. Put simply, this will be another epic weekend of pro football. Here are the top 5 games to watch on Sunday:

5. Saints at Bears

The Saints at the Bears features two teams with a combined record of 7-1. Chicago is coming off a drubbing by the Lions, so this home contest is critical for the psyche of the mentally-weak Bears offense. Sean Payton and the Saints know that and they'll be out to run up the score if the Bears stumble out of the gate.

4. Patriots at Bengals

The Patriots at the Bengals seems like a blowout to some, but Cincinnati is dangerous team that has already knocked off the Steelers and Packers this year. Don't be surprised if the Bengals give the Pats all they want and then someā€¦and maybe even more.

3. Ravens at Dolphins

The Ravens at the Dolphins is interesting because Baltimore is desperate to get above .500 while the Dolphins are looking to keep pace with the Patriots in the AFC East standings. This game will let us know if Miami is legit after getting drubbed by the Saints and if the Ravens can be considered a playoff team at this point in the season.

2. Texans at 49ers

The Texans at the 49ers is critical for both teams because both teams expected to be better than 2-2 after four weeks. Houston is coming off a gut-wrenching loss to the Seahawks and San Francisco finally got back on track against the woeful Rams, so it's do-or-die on the road for Matt Schaub the Texans this week.

1. Seahawks at Colts

The Seahawks at the Colts is our game of the week because it features two hotshot sophomore quarterbacks in a game that will separate these two teams near the top of the NFL power rankings. Heck, it might even be a Super Bowl preview. Either way, make sure you're in front of the TV for this one.
