Cam Newton-Led Panthers Top Patriots In NFL’s Game Of The Year

Talk about making a statement.

The Carolina Panthers stood their ground on Monday night as Ron Rivera‘s young and underestimated team sent the New England Patriots back North with a big “L” in their pocket. Cam Newton was the story in this one as No. 1 played the best game of his career. With three touchdowns and a season-high 62 rush yards, Newton will be the talk of the NFL for weeks on end after his second straight game-winning drive.

To be honest; this matchup between the stoic Tom Brady and energetic Newton was easily the best clash all season. I swear — if every game was like Monday night’s then I think everyone on the planet would be a football fan. Now, just because the Patriots lost doesn’t mean they are dead in the water. New England still has enough fire power to make a postseason run — and this was just a case of the Panthers getting a few lucky bounces and capitalizing on every one of the Patriots’ mistakes.

I hope I’m wrong, but any NFL game after this one is bound to be a major let down.
