The win over the Eagles Sunday have exorcised a lot of the demons the Cardinals have had this season. They ended an 11 game losing streak on the road. It was their third win and second consecutive this season.  They seem to be grasping the defensive ideals Ray Horton has brought to the table.

The seven catch, 146 yard, and two touchdown performance by Larry Fitzgerald has earned for the first time in his career, shockingly, the weekly NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award.  His offensive contributions greatly helped the Cardinals achieve victory. It is the second time in the last ten years that an Arizona Cardinal has received the award.  The last Cardinal to do it, you guessed it, Kurt Warner back in 2009.  Jack “The Snake” Plummer also won the award while he was here in 2000.

Larry Fitzgerald and former Cardinal receiver Roy Green were mystically forever connected on Sunday.  Larry tied, then passed Green’s franchise record for touchdowns with his 69th and 70th touchdown receptions on Sunday.  Believe it or not, Roy Green was also the last Cardinal wide receiver to win an Offensive Player of the week Award.  It gets stranger, the date that Green won his award was November 13, 1988. Exactly 23 years to the day that Larry destroyed the Eagle secondary.

Fitzgerald isn’t the only one to recognized with an award on the team.  John Skelton was nominated today for the GMC “Never Say Never Moment of the Week.”  This award is given to the play or moment that best represents determination and perseverance.  Skelton is one of three player to be nominated from all of the action from week 10.  He was selected because he as a backup quarterback was asked to start in place of the injured Kevin Kolb and try and get a win on the road.  Skelton stared adversity in the eye and passed his way to the win.  Passing for three touchdowns, which includes the five yard game winner to Early Doucet with just 1:53 left on the clock in the fourth quarter, which led the Cardinals to a 21-17 victory over the Eagles.
