With the regular season over halfway over, it is time to start thinking about where the Big East teams will go when the bowl pairings are announced. As always the winner of the Big East will get an automatic BCS berth and the Big East has six bowl games in all. Here is a prediction of where all the Big East teams will go come bowl season.

Orange Bowl: January 4, 2012-Cincinnati Bearcats

The Bearcats are currently the only undefeated team in the conference and their most difficult game remaining is against West Virginia, but that game is at home and Cincinnati is the odds-on favorite right now to reach the biggest bowl game the Big East is offered. Their opponent will be the ACC champion, possibly Clemson.

Champs Sports Bowl: December 29, 2011-West Virginia Mountaineers

The second-place team from the Big East will play in the Champs Sports Bowl against the second-place team from the ACC, perhaps Georgia Tech. West Virginia may be the most talented team in the league, but will have to go on the road and knock off Cincinnati or they will  likely be playing a December bowl game.

Belk Bowl: December 27, 2011-Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Rutgers has two Big East losses already, but have only Cincinnati remaining on their schedule who will give them trouble. They have a very talented defense and their likely opponent in the Belk Bowl will be a team from the ACC with Florida St. being a possibility.

New Era Pinstripe Bowl: December 30, 2011-Syracuse Orange

The Syracuse Orange played in this game last year and won in dramatic fashion. This season may be just the same as the Orange are likely to finish in the middle of the Big East. Their opponent will be a team from the Big 12. Last year it was Kansas St, this season Missouri might come calling.

BBVA Compass Bowl: January 7, 2012-Louisville

The Louisville Cardinals are coming on strong as of late and are back to .500 with more wins likely to come. This bowl pits the Big East against an SEC team more than likely. That opponent could be someone like Vanderbilt, a favorable matchup for the defense of the Cardinals.

Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl: December 20, 2011-South Florida

The final bowl spot is likely between South Florida and Pittsburgh. Both teams are on the bubble and need two more wins to qualify. There is a possibility both teams will qualify. The opponent is from Conference-USA. How about a matchup in St. Petersburg between South Florida and UCF, a future Big East school.
