There are only three weeks remaining in the college football regular season and the Big East race is getting very close. With the West Virginia win over Cincinnati on Saturday, the race is wide open. It brought the Bearcats back to the pack, but with only one league loss, they are still in the drivers seat. Here is a ranking of every Big East team.

1. Cincinnati (7-2, 3-1): The Bearcats lost not only their first conference game last week, but also their star quarterback Zach Collaros for the remainder of the regular season with a broken foot. Sophomore quarterback Munchie Legaux is probably more naturally talented than Collaros and will have to step into the starting role for the Bearcats and lead them to three straight victories down the stretch for the Bearcats to win the conference.

2. West Virginia (7-3, 3-2): The Mountaineers got a big 24-21 road win over Cincinnati and still are probably the most talented team in the conference, led by quarterback Geno Smith who is now the favorite to be the Big East player of the year after the injury to Collaros. West Virginia only has two games remaining and if they win both, there is a good chance they will be going to the Orange Bowl.

3. Rutgers (7-3, 3-2): The Scarlet Knights take on Cincinnati in the biggest conference game of the week. The winner will be in sole possession of first place for the time being and could be the favorite to win the conference. Rutgers is led by wide receiver Mohamed Sanu. Sanu has 94 catches and 973 yards with seven touchdowns. He is having one of the best seasons for a wide receiver in Big East history.

4. Louisville (5-5, 3-2): The Cardinals were knocked off last week by Pittsburgh and fell back to the middle of the pack in the Big East. After winning three straight, the Cardinals were upset at home by the Panthers. They have two road games remaining against Connecticut and South Florida and still have an outside shot at a winning the conference, led by their solid defense.

5. Pittsburgh (5-5, 3-2): The Panthers have played nicely after the loss of running back Ray Graham and like the teams above them, they still have an outside shot to win the conference and represent the Big East in the Orange Bowl. After a big road win against Louisville, the Panthers will need one more victory when they have an elimination game next Friday against West Virginia in Morgantown.

6. South Florida (5-4, 1-4): The Bulls finally got a win last week after losing four straight. They beat Syracuse 37-17 on the road and while they do not have a chance to win the conference, they can still get to a bowl game with one more win. They take on in-state rival Miami this weekend and can complete an undefeated non-conference slate with a win at home. The Bulls finish up with Louisville and West Virginia at home.

7. Connecticut (4-5, 2-2): The Huskies have won two out of their last three after losing four of five. They are one of six teams who still has a chance to win the conference. With three games remaining against Louisville, Rutgers and Cincinnati, the Huskies can win the Big East title with three wins and a little bit of help. They will need to win at least two to become bowl eligible.

8. Syracuse (5-5, 1-4): Less than a month ago, the Orange were riding high after a 26-point win against West Virginia and sat at 5-2. After three straight losses, they are at the bottom of the Big East and must beat Cincinnati or Pittsburgh in the coming weeks to even be bowl eligible. The Orange have struggled to score points in recent weeks since putting up 49 against West Virginia.
