Chris “Birdman” Andersen to start celebrity redneck hunting show

I’m sure you read the headline of this article and thought exactly what I did:

Yep, that makes sense.

The larger-than-life, and stranger-than-most NBA personality Chris “Birdman” Andersen is always up to something. This time around, in lieu of the NBA lockout, he is starting a “celebrity redneck hunting show” called Willie B. and the Good Ole Boys.

This isn’t all that surprising for a couple of reasons:

1. Birdman is a Houston, Texas native who likes to fashion himself along the lines of another famous, gun-toting Lone Star State native, Ted Nugent.

2. Neck tattoos certainly suggest a penchant for guns and associated activities.

3. With the lockout in full force, he’s got nothing but time on his hands. Why not go hunting with your redneck buddies, film it, and get paid for it? Sounds like a plan to me.

Regardless of what you think of the Birdman as a player–or even as a person– you have to admit that he is a first-class free spirit, and watching he and his friends run around Texas hunting whatever they can find is probably good for some passive, dumb-me-down television anyday.

Watch out Jersey Shore, you may have some competition on your hands.
