CINCINNATI, OH– After getting upset Saturday in South Bend against Notre Dame, and dropping in the rankings, Syracuse headed into a sold out Fifth Third Arena to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats Monday night. Starting off hot against Syracuses’s 2-3 zone, Cincinnati jumped out to an early lead. But a late, 1st half run by Kris Joseph help propel the Orange to a 60-53 win over the Bearcats. Joseph led Syracuse with 17 points and 6 rebounds.

“We had to come into this game with a lot of focus,” said Joseph, who scored 11 in the second half. “What’s done is done. It was a tough night (at Notre Dame) for everybody. You can’t let a loss lead to another loss.”

This win puts Syracuse at 21-1 overall and more importantly puts head coach Jim Boeheim 4th all time in career wins at 877. Syracuse is still on top of the Big East at 8-1, while Cincinnati will drop to 15-6 overall and 5-3 in Big East play.
