Wichita State put a big win on their NCAA Tournament resume by defeating No. 17 Creighton in a pivotal Missouri Valley Conference game. The Shockers made a huge statement by soundly defeating the Blue Jays 89-68. Not only did the Shockers possibly solidify a spot in the tournament, they moved closer to capturing its first regular-season conference title since 2006.

In this game, Joe Ragland and Ben Smith scored 24 and 22 points respectively which helped Wichita State avenge a Dec. 31 to Creighton.

The win makes Wichita State more dangerous than ever.

Big wins for them this season include a win over UNLV who defeated North Carolina before playing Wichita State Dec. 4. Wichita State has also proven themselves worthy in conference play defeating tough teams like Evansville, Northern Iowa and Indiana State twice.

The next key game on the Wichita State schedule is their Bracketbusters game Feb. 18. The Shockers will take on Davidson, who has always been a tough mid-major opponent.

Here is their make-up currently:

AP Rank: NR
RPI Rank: 20
SOS: 71
vs. RPI Top 100: 6-3

Looking at their make-up, the only thing that could hurt them is the three losses against the RPI Top 100 and all three of those teams being within the Top 50 RPI ranks. However, with the win over Creighton and possibly a Bracketbusters win, the Shockers could land in the tournament no problem.
