The Boston Celtics need help at the wing position. They will not have a long training camp and having a guy that knows the system would be a bonus. The Celtics also are up against the cap and need a solid player on the cheap. Danny Ainge found that man in old friend Marquis Daniels.
ESPN is reporting the Celtics have agreed to terms with their former swing man. This is not a bad move. The Celtics have a guy that knows the system and can contribute right away. Daniels has potential. The man can play multiple positions and has a solid post game and drive to the basket. He averaged double digits in Indiana for a reason. The minus side is Daniels is always injured. Celtics fans remember that Daniels is coming off a serious bruised spine injury. However, at the veteran minimum it is a low risk and high reward situation. If healthy Daniels can play a little small forward and shooting guard and provide serious matchup problems. He is also a solid defender.
Danny Ainge has landed another piece to his roster. Daniels may be a small piece, but he could be a guy that fills big minutes for this team. The team still needs a couple centers and to deal with free agents Glen Davis, Jeff Green, and Delonte West. Stay Tuned As Danny Ainge retools the roster. Remember Go Green or Go Home!!!!!
