Cardinals Hire Mike Matheny To Replace LaRussa

Mike Matheny will be the new manager of the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals.
A press conference is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CST at Busch Stadium on Monday morning. Matheny will take over for a legend in the form of Tony LaRussa. This will be the first time in Major League Baseball history that a manger who led his team to a title will not return the following season. I will have more on this move and many others very soon, once the details are ironed out.
The manager played 13 seasons in the big leagues as a catcher, which included a five-year stay with the St. Louis Cardinals.
