Report: Fausto Carmona Arrested For Using Fake Identity
Kevin Jairaj-US PRESSWIRE

It looks like you really can’t tell how old players from the Dominican Republic are.  NBC Sports is reporting that Cleveland Indians pitcher Fausto Carmona was arrested in the DR after renewing his visa.  Carmona, whose real name appears to be Roberto Hernandez Heredia.  Not only is that bad, but apparently Carmona/Heredia lied about his age as well.

Fausto Carmona´s real name is Roberto Hernandez. He´s 31, not 28 like the Indians thought. Was arrested today for false identity

Something tells me the Tribe won’t be very happy about that information.  It’s a lot different having a 31 year old pitcher than a 28 year old one.  This might explain Carmona’s peak in 2007 when he finished fourth in the AL Cy Young Voting.  Carmona would have been 26/27 at the time, which would be his prime.
