Jose Bautista Leaves Game After Suffering Left Arm Injury
Jose Bautista and the hopes for the Toronto Blue Jays season might have just crashed down. Bautista left Monday’s game with an apparent left arm injury.
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista left Monday night’s game versus the New York Yankees with an arm injury.
The injury occured in the bottom of the 8th inning after Bautista hit a foul ball to left field. Bautista appeared to injure himself on the follow through of his swing.
That would certainly stamp out any hopes that the Blue Jays had if he Bautista is seriously hurt. He is one of the best hitters in baseball and an injury is crippling to a team that is right on the brink of the playoff race. The pitching is suspect so they need all the runs that they can get.
They will probably do x-rays, but the reaction that I saw on Twitter was not good. It seems like a lot of people think that Jose Bautista suffered a fairly serious injury. I have not seen the replay yet so I can not give a good description of what happened outside of what is posted.
We will keep you posted on this injury throughout the night. If Bautista is seriously hurt, expect the Blue Jays to turn into sellers at the trade deadline. There is no point buying if your star is out for a long period of time. The curse of Toronto sports apparently is alive and well.
