It’s been a season of ups and downs, but Miikka Kiprusoff has proven that he will be the difference maker in times of struggle for the the Flames.

Yes, the score ended up being 6-0, but up until the third period, the Flames were only leading 1-0, and that was largely thanks to Kiprusoff in his 17th straight start.

Chances were 9-2 in favour of the Blues in the second, and the must have been incredibly frustrated with #34 by the end of it.

Fact is, this is the Kiprusoff we’ve been waiting for, and he has proven he’s back during this playoff push. In times where the team isn’t playing so well, we needed him to be the difference. Three shutouts in five games, including these back-to-back shutouts? Message sent.

After an off start to the game, Jarome Iginla bounced back with two goals and one assist. Both goals were rockets, proving Iginla definitely still has that power in him.

As it stands right now, the Flames are in sole possession of 5th. Tis a very nice feeling.

Tomorrow, the Flames face Chicago in the Mad-ish House on Madison. Flames have found it hard to win in this building, but hopefully the recent streak will prove otherwise.
