I want to thank Patrick Allen from www.arrowheadaddict.com for doing my second Q & A this week. And without and further delay…away we go…

CBJ:  What’s the feeling on Todd Haley?

Patrick: I would say most KC fans are split down the middle. A lot of fans I know really like Haley and his unconventional style. Still, others are frustrated with what they see as inconsistencies in his philosophy and personnel evaluation.

I like him and think he has the potential to be a really good coach. Every once in a while though, he does something I just don’t understand that makes me worry that he isn’t learning fast enough.

CBJ:  Any feelings on Tim Tebow mania? I’m sure you have a few thoughts on him…

Patrick: All I know is that when the kid is playing his teams win games. Personally, I find him annoying. On the field, I think he looks like a RB playing QB. He can make a decent throw here and there but if it weren’t for all his other qualities (leadership, running ability) I think he would be laughed out of the league.

I think he will eventually come crashing back down to earth. Defense will figure out what Denver is doing and they will find a way to stop him. Once he is forced to throw I think he’ll be screwed.

That being said, he’s earned his starting spot and he has earned the chance to prove his style can work and that he can improve his throwing accuracy to make himself a viable NFL passer. Anyone who says he hasn’t it deluding themselves.

CBJ: Who are some players that Chicago Bears fans need to watch on Sunday? Any matchup concerns for the Bears?

Patrick: Keep an eye on OLB Tamba Hali. He’s a beast and his sole job is to rush the passer. Even when he isn’t getting sacks he is relentless and tends to cause a remarkable amount of false start and holding penalties. He gets a ton of pressure. Haine will need to keep an eye out for him and the Bears would be wise to double him at all times. Past Hali, there are no real pass rushing threats on KC’s D.

You should also keep an eye on ILB Derrick Johnson. He plays at a Pro Bowl level and can cover the field sideline to sideline. If the Bears are planning on running Forte a lot, Johnson will be the guy they need to take out to spring him.

CBJ:  What are your thoughts on the Chicago Bears? Any players concern you?

Patrick: Urlacher and Peppers. The KC offense is really struggling and they could have Orton out there for the first time. The offensive line, particularly  the right side, tends to spring leaks. It could get ugly.

On offense, Forte is obviously having a remarkable season. Knox worries me as well. If the KC defense plays like it did against the Steelers, this could be an ugly, defensive battle. If not, Chicago probably only needs to find the endzone once to win.

CBJ: The Kansas City Chiefs will win this game if….

Patrick: If they score. The offense hasn’t gotten in the endzone in so long I can’t even tell you who scored the last TD. If the Chiefs don’t find a way to move the football and keep their defense off the field, they’ll lose again. If they can manufacture some offense I think their D will have a shot to frustrate Haine.

CBJ:  The Chicago Bears will win this game if…

Patrick: They play their typical brand of solid defense and avoid falling for any of KC’s trickery on offense. I’m expecting Todd Haley to pull out all the stops for this game because the offense is embarrassingly bad. You may see Wild Cat and multiple QB’s.  Still, the Chiefs lack explosion offense. The bears just need to stay home and cover the receivers and they should be fine.

CBJ:  In my last trip to Kansas City and I ate at Arthur Bryant’s bbq. I was a bit disappointed. Where should go instead?

Patrick: I am not actually from KC originally so I won’t pretend to be a BBQ expert. When I was there, I really enjoyed the Z-Man sandwich at Oklahoma Joe’s.  The burnt ends at Gates BBQ might have been the best thing I’ve ever eaten. The sauce there is also great.

A lot of my friends also highly recommend Jack Stack.

CBJ:  Game prediction?

Patrick: I think the Chiefs have a shot in this game because the Bears have some QB woes and KC has a bit of the element of surprise on their side.

That said, when I look at the rosters, Chicago is superior even with Haine at QB. I think Chicago will get Forte going and I don’t know that any KC QB will be ready to go into Chicago and win.

Bears 24, Chiefs 13
