This off-season has been a confusing one for the Chicago White Sox and their fans. The Winter Meetings got off to a shocking start when they traded Sergio Santos to the Toronto Blue Jays for prospect Nestor Molina. Not a bad trade on paper, but of all the rumored White Sox players on the move, Sergio Santos was not one of them. The Santos move seemingly was the start of the rebuilding process for the Palehose. Kenny Williams even said the exact word for the first time in his life. But with the recent extension of John Danks, White Sox fans are wondering what is going on.

My thoughts on the matter - we still have a shot.

The White Sox finished 79-83 last season. Not a good record by any means, but a good record considering all the things that went wrong. I can easily see the White Sox nearing 90 wins this season IF - big if - things go according to plan. Folks, I am not a homer Sox fan. In fact, I might be one of the most bitter ones out there. I just have a hard time believing it can get worse when it already was so bad. I am going to use my own estimated wins total (WAR) for the players currently on the 2012 White Sox. By doing this, I hope by breaking it down statistically Sox fans have more faith for next season. here is an explanation of WAR if you do not know what it means.
