With the NBA still locked out, there’s not many things to talk about basketball-wise.  However, basketball players are still making appearances on radio and on TV.   Amare Stoudemire is one of those guys and he appeared on Dan LeBatard’s show earlier this week.  Stoudemire was asked who the smelliest player in the league and Stoudemire confirmed that teammate Ronny Turiaf is known as the biggest smell offender.

While I’m not sure that’s great for team building, I find this hilarious.  Not so much the fact Turiaf smells like an old shoe, but the fact that NBA players have to talk about things like this.  There won’t be any actual games to talk about for awhile, so I guess the topics are going to be even wilder.  I won’t be shocked if we get a show that is devoted to talking about the best tattoos on NBA TV.  They need something to do.

Stoudemire also says that he doesn’t try to get to close to other players.  Well, I can’t deny that.  Have you ever seen Amare try to play defense?  I’m not sure if he knows the word exists.   Now that he’s suffered more injuries, I believe Amare is going to bring back the matador defense.  I’m looking forward to Amare giving guards an open lane to the hoops as he fails to rotate.  Maybe it’s because they smell bad.
