Today is Selection Sunday, which is one of America's greatest sporting Sundays of the year. We will find out the fates of several teams, and we will pretend to know the outcomes of 64 games over the next three weeks.

However, as many of us are aware of, it's impossible to predict a majority of upsets. No one could predict a 37-point underdog (Coppin St.) could beat a #2 ranked powerhouse (South Carolina) in 1997.

With Coppin St. aside, here are 10 of greatest first-round upsets in NCAA history. Historic buzzer-beaters were left off the list (Valpo, NW St., Murray St.) because we all know about those. And if you want to know those upsets, you can check out my 20 greatest buzzer-beaters in NCAA history.
