There are some athletes that are just more polarizing than others for one reason or another. It always seems like fans are split on their opinion of these players for those same ambiguous reasons. Whether they should be or not, fans argue constantly about these 15 players.

This kid just can't seem to get it right. He probably has the most raw talent at the quarterback position since Andrew Luck, but he seems intent on wasting it. That's what frustrates people about him. Some will still be fans of him because of his supreme talent, but more and more are starting to dislike him because of his attitude and stupidity.

The dirtiest player in the NFL? Maybe, but he hasn't been that way for a while. He's a great talent, but always seems to throwing cheap shots when he has the chance. It's no wonder he's gathered such a large crowd of both supporters and haters.

13. Sidney Crosby

There's no arguing that Crosby is one of the premier talents in the entire NHL, but many people don't like him. Obviously many, like the fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins, love him. He just has a very polarizing game.

Well, he has more Super Bowls than his more talented brother Peyton, but Eli still faces the heat in the New York media constantly. There's good reason for that as he can be a turnover machine at times, but the bottom line is that he's delivered two Super Bowls in his time in New York. Everyone else can argue about less important things than that on their own time.

11. Kobe Bryant

Kobe is one of the best to ever play the game, but he rubs some people the wrong way. He's extremely cocky and at this stage in his career, he can't even afford to be. There's no doubt he will be regarded as one of the best ever, but many will still resent his success.

10. Alexander Ovechkin

Like Crosby, Ovechkin is a polarizing superstar in the NHL. He's been known to take some cheap shots on occasion, which has tarnished his reputation. There's no doubt that many fans and players alike would like the opportunity to fight him at some point in time.

9. Adrian Peterson

Peterson's recent situation has opened up the public forum for debate on proper child-rearing techniques. Some side with Peterson, while many will no longer root for him after his disgusting act. I don't care who you are or how you were raised, using a switch on a four-year-old child is absolutely unacceptable.

Ever since he was taken with the No. 1 overall pick, there has been a tremendous amount of hype around Bryce Harper. However, he's failed to blossom into the superstar he was supposed to be. Some still hold out hope and say he will realize his potential, while others claim he will end up being an average everyday major league player.

People will argue for days over whether or not the all-time hits leader should be in the Hall of Fame despite betting on baseball during his coaching days. It's an ethical dilemma, but there really shouldn't be a debate here. Charlie Hustle belongs in Cooperstown.

It's incredibly rare that we get two legendary quarterbacks at essentially the same point in their careers who also play each other on a regular basis. This has become quite the rivalry and with each head-to-head matchup, fans will argue who is the better quarterback historically.

5. Jay Cutler

Most of the criticism Cutler gets is self-inflicted. He is a gunslinger and easily a top-10 quarterback in the NFL in terms of talent. However, his body language is always poor and he always seems to underachieve. Since everyone knows the talent is there, people will still argue he's a great quarterback while others will laugh at that notion.

4. Tony Romo

Due to his frequent late-game and late-season meltdowns, a top-seven quarterback in the league doesn't always exactly seem like it. There's no doubt that Romo can lead the Cowboys deep into the playoffs. However, until he does that, he's going to have more haters than supporters.

3. Tim Tebow

This is actually one of the more legitimate debates out there. Tebow has horrible mechanics and that's no secret, but he's proven that he can win in the NFL. People will argue passionately on both sides; it's just a shame no NFL team will give him another shot.

2. Johnny Manziel

Johnny Football is argued about all the time for a couple of reasons. Many say he should be starting for the Cleveland Browns right now even though they're a surprising 5-3 with Brian Hoyer under center. Another reason people argue about him is that some see a problem with the way he acts off the field. Wrong or not, he's always going to make headlines.

GOAT? Everyone and their mothers wants to compare LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Let's be clear: there will never be another player at the level of Michael Jordan. It's actually likely LeBron is the most talented player since MJ, which is a huge compliment in itself. However, with such great talent, people are going to talk about LeBron's place in history from now until long after he retires.
