Gilbert Arenas is going to be looking for a new home this coming season.  Reports are circulating that he is the amnesty casualty down in Orlando, effectively eliminating his albatross salary from the cap.  This move was also needed to complete the Magic’s sign and trade deal for Glen “Big Baby” Davis.  Orlando sent Brandon Bass to Boston in this move.

Arenas will slide through waivers in record time, since no one in their right mind would think of claiming his enormous salary.  I’m not sure of a team that is going to have any interest in him at all.  It was easy to put up with the headaches he caused when he was an All-Star but those days are long gone.  He’s probably going to have to settle for the minimum and he’ll be lucky to get that.  At least Orlando still has to pay him, but this seems like the end of the road for the man once known as Agent Zero.
