Kobe Bryant Set To Play With A Cast On His Right Wrist
Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest NBA players of all time, he’s won 5 NBA championships, and most recently has reached the 28,000 point total, which only 9 other players have ever done and Kobe is only the second guard ever to do it, the other being Michael Jordan. These are just a few of the many accolades that Kobe has acquired through his 16 years of playing in the NBA. But all of those awards won’t help Kobe in trying to win his 6th NBA championships, and what certainly won’t help is if Kobe Bryant keeps getting injured like he has been lately.
In the Lakers first pre-season game with the Los Angeles Clippers Kobe tore a ligament in his right wrist and has endured excruciating pain ever since. The injury hadn’t really been a problem for Kobe as put up at least 20 points in every Lakers game, that is until Sunday night when they played the Denver Nuggets. Kobe went 6-28 from the field and shot 1-8 from beyond the arc and costing the Lakers a chance to win with many poor shot choices.
The bad game didn’t really make sense though seeing how Kobe had played so well, despite the wrist injury, thus far. Well new information has come out and now all the pieces seem to be coming together. According to a source that is close with the Los Angeles Lakers Kobe has gotten a numbing shot for his wrist before each Lakers game thus making it tolerable for Kobe to play. But this same source also said that the shot was not effective Sunday night and that, “it was a miracle he even played.”
The Lakers source also said that in addition to the numbing shots for his wrist, Kobe will now play with a cast on his right wrist, get physical therapy after every game, and also wear a flexible cast off the court. To sum up all that Kobe has gone through since his wrist injury one source said this, “…If it was anyone else but Kobe, if they did play they’d come up goose eggs on the scoreboard. It’s incredible he’s playing at all.”
