The New York Knicks currently sit in the eight and final place in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, but may have to do without new found star point guard Jeremy Lin if they are able to hold onto their one game lead for eight place. For those of you that cannot recall, Lin tore his meniscus a couple weeks ago, and his undergone surgery. He currently is in rehab trying to get back.

“I think unless something goes really well I wouldn’t get there” Lin said when asked about playing in the first round.

Lin has been posting pictures of his rehab on his Facebook page, trying to get back as soon as he can. Lin underwent surgery just less than a week ago, on Monday. He already has been on his bike and trying to get back as soon as he can.

I would say the Knicks need him to win against the Chicago Bulls, but they were able to do that today without him. However, I think they have a better chance of winning the series with him than they do without him.

Lin may turn the ball over more than he should, however, his ability to get into the lane will be insurmountable in an effort to win a seven game series versus the Bulls. That should open up shots for Carmelo Anthony, who had a big game today, and Amar’e Stoudemire, who will have to play better than he has.

The Knicks already have a tough task playing the Bulls, and will have an even tougher time if Lin is on the bench.
