The Dallas Cowboys were well aware of running back Tashard Choice’s potential when he was cut from the team on Oct. 30. After playing one game with the Washington Redskins (against the Cowboys), Choice was cut again on Tuesday.
Choice carried the ball six times for seven yards against the Cowboys, his worst performance as a pro. Choice has two 100-yard performances in his four-year career and another 99-yard game. However, his inconsistent play and tendency to fumble ended his tenure in Dallas three months before his rookie contract was set to expire.
Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan changes running backs like underwear, so this move comes as no surprise. Choice was claimed by the Redskins on waivers to help their running game after starter Tim Hightower suffered a season-ending torn ACL. Shanahan didn’t give Choice so much as a second look, cutting him after one week of action.
