The Dallas Cowboys are in desperate need of help at the running back position after losing DeMarco Murray for the season with a broken ankle. It’s slim pickings this time of year, but one writer over at ProFootballTalk.com has an interesting idea. He suggested the Cowboys give former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber a tryout.
Barber retired unexpectedly a year before the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2007, but expressed a desire to return to the NFL this past season. After no team would take him, he may get a shot in Dallas by the process of elimination.
Bringing in Barber for just a look can’t hurt anything; the Cowboys literally have only on running back on the active roster in Felix Jones. Barber might not be the right fit, but then again he may be just what Dallas needs – someone who can spell Jones and do a decent job running the football.
Barber’s last season in the NFL was a stellar one; he ran for 1,662 yards and five touchdowns. He’s now 36 years old, so there’s no telling what he can still do or not do. There’s only one way to find out.

What an idiotic idea.
