The Lions have not beaten the Bears since 2007, so Monday Night Football is an even bigger stage for the young Detroit squad. Detroit is flying high and off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 1980.

The game on Monday could be looked at as a changing tide of sorts in the NFL. Ndamukong Suh leads the Lions defense and has grown into one of the best defensemen in the league.

Suh’s defensive counterpart form the Bears Brian Urlacher, has been considered to be an elite defensive player for many years now. Urlacher and the Bears have had some up and down times over the years, but the Bears did make the Super Bowl in the 2006 season.

The Lions feature many young and talented players on offense. Matthew Stafford, Jahvid Best, and Calvin Johnson lead the offensive unit.

The Bears counter with some good talent as well. Jay Cutler is wildly inconsistent, but is the team’s best quarterback in decades. Matt Forte is fresh off his 200 yard rushing performance last week against the Carolina Panthers and Devin Hester is probably the greatest return man ever.

Each franchise has talent on both sides of the ball, but it seems as though the window for the Bears is closing. Detroit is obviously on the up track as the team has been rebuilding since the horrible no win 2008 campaign.

The difference for the Lions heading into Monday night that they do not think they have a chance to play with Chicago, they know that they can compete and expect to win if they play their game.
