The city of Detroit is electric tonight as Monday Night Football returned after a 10 year absence. A crazed sellout crowd of over 67,000 welcomed the Lions into Ford Field.

A ravenous home crowd helped the Lions by causing the Bears offense to jump offsides repeatedly on the teams first series.

The Bears jumped offsides six times in the first half. The defense got after Jay Cutler consistently and made the quarterback uncomfortable in the pocket.

Matthew Stafford and the Lions struck first with a 73 yard touchdown pass to “Megatron” Calvin Johnson. The Chicago Bears came back with a field goal and a touchdown to take a 10-7 halftime lead.

Detroit started the second half with a scoring drive that ended with a Stafford touchdown pass to Brandon Pettigrew.

Jahvid Best ignited the sellout crowd with an 88 yard touchdown run to put the Lions up 21-10.

The Bears cut it to a one score game with a field goal, but Jason Hanson sealed the win with a late field goal.

For the people that didn’t think that the were for real this was a statement. The  roar is back in Detroit.
