The Detroit Red Wings are, without a doubt, the streakiest team in the NHL and maybe all of professional sports.

And for now, that is a good things for Red Wings’ fans.

The Wings’ fifteen wins have come from win streaks of four, five and now six.  Their losses were in groups of six and two.

The Wings latest victims were Steve Yzerman’s Tampa Bay Lightning.  A balanced attack and stout defense were good enough for a Wings 4-2 win.

Few things are a bigger story in Hockeytown than when the Captain is at Joe Louis Arena.  However, one exception took place on Wednesday night, as the Wings took control of the Central Division.  Though they are tied with the Chicago Blackhawks for the division lead, the Wings have one more win.  The two teams have yet to meet this year, but will play one another six times over the course of the season.

The Wings take their streak to the road for their next three games versus Buffalo, Colorado, and St. Louis.  None of those three teams are higher than third in their divisions.
