Top Ten Fantasy Players to Ride to a Championship (10-6)
By Adam McGill
With the fantasy playoffs right around the corner, knowing who to start is crucial in the ever important playoff push. Below are the top-ten players to roll with each week no matter what:
10. Marques Colston, NO – Colston got some well-deserved rest last weekend from a bye and will be completely healthy for the remainder of the season. The Saints have an extremely favorable schedule in weeks 14-16; with games at Tennessee, at Minnesota, and hosting Atlanta to close out the fantasy season.
9. Reggie Bush, MIA – Bush has been on fire with an amazing 4 touchdowns in his last three games. The Dolphins’ have remained dedicated to getting him the ball, but he still has not had more than 20 touches in a single game. Luckily for fantasy owners he does not need many touches to be able to make a play and is rumored to be returning more punts towards the end of the year. He is a viable flex option for the rest of the year, especially in a week 15 rematch versus the Bills.
8. Jordy Nelson, GB – Nelson followed up his phenomenal 2010 playoffs with a strong performance through the first 11 weeks of the 2011 season. Nelson is shockingly in third place in the league with 9 receiving touchdowns and has been Aaron Rodgers’ favorite downfield target. He will continue to be a strong second receiver and was a great value pick this year.
7. Carson Palmer, OAK – Palmer has been a huge free agent pickup this season and could not have landed in a better situation than with Oakland; a team with an outstanding running game, extremely fast wideouts, and a desperate need at quarterback. Palmer already has 7 touchdowns (6 passing and 1 rushing) through his first three starts and looks like a legitimate fantasy quarterback once again.
6. Vincent Jackson, SD – “V Jack” has been on fire in November with only 15 catches for 328 yards and 4 touchdowns. He has been playing through abdomen and hamstring injuries all year, and has also been playing well despite the quarterback struggles of Philip Rivers. Jackson is a great starting wideout for a final push, because anyone who can explode for 141 yards and 3 touchdowns in one game, is a must start come playoff time.
