There are a handful of starting pitchers that have been dealing so far through the 2014 fantasy baseball season. Probably the hottest pitcher, though, has been Scott Feldman of the Houston Astros.

Feldman currently owns a 2-0 record and the fireballer has an unthinkable 0.44 ERA on the year to go along with a 0.73 WHIP. He has also held opposing hitters to an unheard of .106 batting average.

Feldman has pitched like a Cy Young candidate so far this season. The journeyman has established himself as a pretty reliable fantasy starter and has quickly become a popular waiver wire addition. Despite all Feldman’s success, though, there are still a large number of owners that refuse to take a serious look at the starter.

Most point out that Feldman has never been the best source of strikeouts, as the right-hander has only racked up seven K’s through 20.2 innings of work. The starter also fanned a meager 132 batters last season in 181.2 innings, which was shockingly the highest mark of his career. He will never be able to consistently strikeout hitters and it does limit his overall potential.

Regardless of the lack of strikeouts, Feldman is still an innings monster. He always goes deep into the game and he knows how to hit his spots. He is truly a veteran arm.

Feldman is shockingly owned in just 40.1% of ESPN formats and will be worth grabbing in leagues with 10-plus owners. If you need another seasoned arm, put in the claim for Feldman in Week 3.
