For any fantasy baseball team, starting the right players is unsurprisingly the key to success. This is especially true in the immensely popular daily leagues, where a single player can mean the difference between a big payday and crushing disappointment. Based on matchups and talent, the following five players could all be in for an outstanding day on June 9 and deserve your utmost consideration.

This slugger is having a pretty typical season. His average is really low, he's striking out a ton, and he's hitting plenty of HRs. Dunn has actually gone yard in each of his last three games, and may just make it four straight today when he squares off against Rick Porcello and the Detroit Tigers. Not only has Porcello allowed 13 runs in his past 18 innings pitched, but Dunn owns a .318 career average against him, including two HRs.

After a pretty sluggish start to the year, Reyes has been his typical productive self in recent weeks. He's hit safely in 20 of his last 21 games, and should find more success tonight. The Jays will host the Minnesota Twins and projected starter Ricky Nolasco this evening. Nolasco has been as rotten as spoiled milk this year with a 5.65 ERA and 1.53 WHIP, plus Reyes is a .327 career hitter against him in 49 at bats.

It's been a nice season for Rios so far, but it's been even better of late. With a .462 average over his last seven games, this outfielder has vaulted up to the #1 spot in the AL in batting average at .332. I expect that number to go up today. He'll face left-handed starter T.J. House who players are hitting .301 against this year, plus Rios sports a lofty .421 average versus left-handed pitching in 2014.

2. 1B - Brandon Moss: Oakland Athletics

Moss is proving that his last two seasons were in fact no joke. He's 7th among all hitters with 16 HRs, and is second to just Nelson Cruz with 53 RBIs. He's been especially hot of late with four homers and 11 RBIs over his past seven games, and should do more damage tonight. He'll square off against Garrett Richards this evening, and in 17 career at bats against him he's managed a .412 average, including two HRs and three doubles.

With a .357 average and three HRs in his past seven games, it's safe to say that last year's NL MVP is seeing the ball well at the moment. He sees it even better against Chicago Cubs starter Edwin Jackson though. That's who he'll face tonight, and he sports an impressive .435 average with two HRs in 23 career at bats against him. Jackson has also struggled mightily of late, as he's allowed 14 runs in his last 14.1 innings pitched.
