Every season in fantasy baseball there are players who come from seemingly out of nowhere to put up big numbers and provide tremendous value for the virtual general managers who own them. While it's nice to get elite production from your first- and second-round picks, the teams that win are usually the ones that can find elite production late in the draft or early in the season on the waiver wire.

Mesoraco went undrafted in fantasy leagues this season, but as we enter July, he's the second-highest ranked catcher in fantasy baseball. Among catchers with at least 150 plate appearances this season, Mesoraco is second in both batting average and home runs, third in RBIs, ninth in runs scored, fourth in OBP and first in wOBA.

Abreu was an 11th-round pick in most fantasy leagues this season; heading into 2015, he'll likely be a first-round pick. The Cuban slugger is hitting .280 this season and he's tied for the major-league lead with 25 home runs. He's also third among first baseman in RBIs, sixth in runs scored, second in wOBA and first with a whopping .351 ISO.

Frazier may very well be fantasy baseball's MVP for the first half of the season. The Reds' third baseman was taken in the 25th round, if drafted at all in fantasy baseball drafts, and he's currently ranked second among third baseman, behind only Edwin Encarnacion. Frazier is third among third baseman in home runs, fourth in batting average, fifth in runs scored, sixth in RBIs and first in steals.

Gordon has played second base this season, but he qualifies at shortstop in pretty much all leagues. Gordon went undrafted in most fantasy leagues and heading into July, he is MLB's stolen base leader with 40 steals entering Sunday. Gordon is also third among shortstops in runs scored and second in batting average.

The hate definitely went too far when it came to Cruz this offseason. The Orioles' slugger was drafted, on average, in the 13th round in fantasy drafts in 2014 and 38th among outfielders, behind guys like Alfonso Soriano, Domonic Brown and Curtis Granderson. Cruz is currently tied for the MLB lead with 25 home runs first among outfielders with 66 RBIs.

Brantley was the 63rd outfielder drafted in 2014, but he's currently the fourth-ranked outfielder in fantasy baseball. Brantley is first among outfielders with a .321 average and he's 15th in home runs, fourth in runs scored, sixth in RBIs and 20th in steals. He's one of five outfielders to be in the top-20 in all five major roto categories.

Speaking of outfielders who are in the top-20 in all five major roto categories, Blackmon is 12th among outfielders in batting average, 15th in home runs, 13th in runs, 12th in RBIs and sixth in steals. Blackmon went undrafted in nearly every league this year and he's currently ranked seventh among outfielders.

Cueto was a 17th-round draft pick in 2014 and he's currently the No. 1 ranked starting pitcher in fantasy baseball. On average, 38 starting pitchers were taken ahead of Cueto on draft day. Cueto is currently 15th in wins, first in both ERA (he's the only starter with an ERA under 2.00) and WHIP, and seventh in strikeouts.

Kazmir was the 68th starting pitcher off the board in fantasy drafts this season, behind guys like Michael Pineda, Ubaldo Jimenez and Dan Straily. Heading into Sunday, he was the ninth-ranked starter, in front of guys like Zack Greinke, Madison Bumgarner and David Price. Kazmir is seventh in wins, 11th in ERA, seventh in WHIP and 20th in K-BB percentage.

Beckett went undrafted in virtually all leagues this season and he's been nearly untouchable. He's fourth among starting pitchers in ERA, sixth in WHIP and second in opponents' batting average. Beckett's given up three or fewer runs in 12 of his 15 starts, threw a no-hitter back in May and hasn't allowed more than four earned runs in a single start all season.

Hammel, like Beckett, went undrafted in pretty much every league this season. He's currently ranked 12th among starting pitchers, though, and he's 25th in ERA, eighth in WHIP and 12th in K-BB percentage. Hammel has allowed three or fewer runs in 13 of his 16 starts this season and he's recorded at least five strikeouts in 15 of those starts.

Rodriguez went undrafted in pretty much all fantasy leagues this season and he inherited the Brewers' ninth-inning job less than two weeks into April. K-Rod leads baseball with 27 saves and he has a sparkling 2.34 ERA and 0.87 WHIP -- and he's averaged more than a strikeout per inning -- to go with them. K-Rod defines why you shouldn't overpay for saves on draft day.

Doolittle also went undrafted in fantasy leagues this season and he's been fantastic since taking over for Jim Johnson as Oakland's closer. Doolittle has struck out 56 batters over 39 innings, has a 2.08 ERA, an unbelievable 0.59 WHIP to go with an even more unbelievable 56:1 strikeout:walk ratio and he's converted 11 of his 13 save opportunities.
