Video: New York Rangers Ryan Callahan’s 100th Career Goal is an OT Beauty
The New York Rangers finished off the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in overtime on a brilliant goal by Rangers captain Ryan Callahan. It was not just any overtime goal -it was also the 100th goal of the 26 year-old career,
Callahan created his own scoring chance by feeding teammate Ryan McDonagh in the neutral zone, then accepting a return pass before making Patrick Kaleta look silly before firing the puck past Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller.
It was the 24th goal of the season for a Callahan – a new career high and it came in dramatic fashion in the most famous sports arena in the world, Madison Square Garden.
With the win, the Rangers collected points 83 and 84 on the season. They now trail the Vancouver Canucks by just two points for the race to the Presidents Trophy.
