The Bear is back!

The unofficial mascot of the Boston Bruins, the Bear, is once again starring in the latest commercials for the team to introduce a network to join its digital and social content.

I’m a Pittsburgh Penguins girl through and through, but these new commercials are pretty funny.  Although, they’re not all that perfect because I still can’t really stomach Brad Marchand (sorry).

The video featured in this post (below) is the first of what looks to be an installment of them serves as an introduction and mimics the opening credits to an 80′s sitcom (gotta love that theme song!).  These are the types of things I enjoy as a hockey fan and I think the Bruins organization may have hit a home run with this.

According to HockeyWebCaster on YouTube,

The Boston Bruins on Monday debuted Bruins Digital Entertainment Network (yep, Bruins DEN) that seeks to package all of their digital and social content together. Part of that network: The Bruins new official Mobile App via AT&T, which is available for free on iTunes, Android Market/Google Play and Blackberry App World.

They’ve also released the first episode called “Video Games” (CLICK HERE to view) where the Bear and Marchand are playing EA Sports NHL 12 only after the National Anthem is sung by Rene Rancourt and while it’s being commentated by NESN’s Jack Edwards.  It’s exclusive to the mobile application on its release date with at least two more planned.  Judging from these two, I’m sure the next ones will be just as entertaining.  Take a look for yourself:
