When one thinks of the outstanding players in the league, the question of MVP will undoubtedly come up. This season there were records broke left and right, including Drew Brees breaking Dan Marino’s passing record.  Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees had arguably the best season of their careers. So which one deserves the MVP?

First in answering the question who is the most valuable player, lets answer the question what does MVP mean? The MVP is the one player a team cannot win without. A player who without, the teams looks so out of place. A player that when missing,  not only the offense looks bad and out of sync but also the rest of the team.

When you add  those tangibles together, you can take a list of players and narrow it down to a few. In my eyes the most valuable player of the 2011 season is Peyton Manning. The colts won two games and the whole team looked bad, not just the offense. The colts passing offense went from averaging 288 yards per game a year ago to 187 a game. Passing sets up the run and without Manning, the run offense struggled. The offense had only 25 touchdowns whereas the year before Manning had 33 Passing touchdowns.  The defense was on the field more than they were last season from the abundance of  three-and- outs.

So this raises the question can a player who does not take a snap win the Most Valuable Player Award? In most cases people would say no, but in this one yes. Peyton Manning deserves the MVP because he means too much to his team, which is evident with the Colts winning only two games without him.

You’re nuts if you think the Colts organization didn’t throw this season on purpose. Why else would an owner fire a GM and a Chairman that spent a decade making the Colts franchise what it is? They just went to a Super Bowl not that long ago! The Polians know Manning is done and they did what they had to do to try and keep the franchise stable.

Manning might be the Colts best player, but all of those players didn’t suddenly lose their abilities once they found out that Manning was out for the season. The team didn’t disintegrate without Manning, they Sucked-For-Luck.

Manning undoubtedly one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, but it’s no coincidence that the Colts were so bad with the stakes – the need for a franchise QB – so high.

You honestly believe that the whole organization would throw the entire season for one player?
I like where you are going with this, I just can’t see that. I just believe that Manning means that much to the team.
