The situation between the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning is an unfortunate one for everyone involved. These two people built a team to be reckoned with for 13 years, and now all of a sudden it could be the end. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

The fact that Peyton Manning has yet to be released is probably the best news that Colts fans can hear at the moment. Just think back to your own lives, when you have a tough decision to make, most people want to think about it. While thinking of that decision it can way on your shoulders like nothing ever has. Don’t you think that Jim Irsay has the weight of a city on his shoulders? Also, when you make a decision to solve the problem that you are dealt with, you feel better, like the weight of the world has been lifted off you. We can assume that Jim Irsay wants to feel good and move forward.

We haven’t heard what Irsay and the Colts have thought about the Manning dilemma, and which direction they want to go in but, considering if they release Manning they will have to deal with the “hate” from the fans, wouldn’t you want that to start sooner rather than later?

Peyton Manning will be ready for the 2012 season, and he will be a member of the Indianapolis Colts. It is important to remember that Colts owner, Jim Irsay wants to have the perfect public image. Lets say he releases Manning and he still can play, and Manning goes to a team that competes in the Colts division, Irsay will be forever known as the “bad guy” or even a “idiot”.

Manning is expected to be 100% by April’s draft and with a lot of teams looking at him to fill in their quarterback position, Irsay cannot release Manning. He cannot release him for two big reasons. One, Manning is his quarterback and will be until Manning wants to leave. The second reason is, to release Manning would be bad for business. He is the face of the franchise and to release him would hurt your image and sales. Bottom line is it would be a stupid move!

So with the idea that all signs are pointing toward Manning playing in 2012, it doesn’t matter who they draft at number one this year, because neither kid will be playing, except in the preseason.

This is Peyton Manning’s team and it will be until the day he retires from the National Football league.
