The Indianapolis Colts are already making moves now after slimming their roster down to 53 players. The Colts were able to claim three players off of waivers. In exchange, they had to cut three more. They also added six more to the practice squad, leaving two spots open.

Claimed off of waivers were the following:

Sergio Brown, S – Brown previously played for the New England Patriots, where he produced 37 tackles last season. He will add a lot of depth to the team, which has struggled with injuries in their secondary. He will definitely help when Antoine Bethea or Tom Zbikowski need a break.

Mike Person, OT – Person previously played with the San Francisco 49ers. This could be the best signing because he adds depth to a very poor offensive line. He’ll be a big need. Don’t be surprised if you see him a lot this season.

Martin Tevaseu, NT – Tevaseu previously played with the New York Jets and it makes sense signing him because Indianapolis only has one active player remaining at the nose tackle position. Adding Tevaseu brings depth and support for the most unhealthy position on the Colts’ roster at this moment.

Here’s the rest of the moves:

CB D.J. Johnson
