Do you hear that?

That deafening silence you are hearing is coming from the Jaguars ticket office on the day following the teams embarrassing 47-12 loss to the New England Patriots in their preseason opener.

With popular rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert getting his first live NFL action, most Jaguars fans were tuned in to watch a three hour commercial for buying tickets. Unfortunately the performance on the field last night certainly did not entice those fans on the fence to rush out and get season tickets.

As of Friday morning, the Jaguars were still 14,000 season tickets short of filling the general bowl for the 2011 season. At this point it is unlikely that they will keep up the ticket sales momentum created last season.

While in the end the result of last night’s game does not have any great effect on how the Jaguars will perform when the regular season rolls around, it certainly could have a major effect on how many people are in the stadium to watch how the season plays out.
