While it was certainly no excuse for their performance last week against the Jets, the Jaguars went into the game banged up and missing a few key pieces.

However, as the Jaguars prepare for Blaine Gabbert’s first start this Sunday against the Panthers it appears they could receive a boost from having a few players back on the field.

On the offensive side of the ball the Jaguars will likely get tight end Marcedes Lewis and right tackle Eben Britton back in the starting lineup. Lewis only missed last weeks game with a calf strain, but Britton is on track to get his first start since being placed on the injured reserve list with a shoulder injury last season. Wide receiver Jason Hill remains a question mark for Sunday with a hip injury that has kept him limited in practice this week.

On the defensive side of the ball starting cornerback Derek Cox is going to be on the field on Sunday for the Jaguars. The rib injury that prevented him from playing last week was apparently only a one week injury as Cox has been able to fully practice this week.

Unfortunately the Jaguars will still be without defensive end Aaron Kampman. The timetable for his return from his knee injury last season still remains unknown.
