Don McPeak-US PRESSWIRE

Willie Taggart is the coach of Western Kentucky and he is trying to prep his team to play Alabama this coming weekend.  He has been doing some radio interviews and he mentioned something quite interesting.  Taggart believes that Bama is the 33rd NFL team and that they could take out five or six pro teams.

See, it is way too early to be doing this stuff.  It never stops and it is never interesting.  Every time there is a dominant college team, people start thinking that they can beat pro teams.  Alabama is a very good football team but saying that they can beat a pro team is way out there.

Let’s look at the facts.  Alabama has a lot of players that will not play in the NFL.  On the other hand, the bottom feeder teams have players that were all good enough to play.  Bama might be great but they would get run off the field by a professional team.

This debate will probably end up all over the sports shows and we will have to talk about it for as long as humanly possible.  If the news cycle slows down, simply start the debate up.  It will anger some people and the cycle will continue.  It used to be an interesting debate but now it is just tired.

Bama is good but they are not going to come close to beating a professional team.  Willie Taggart is just trying to give them credit, but come on.  You don’t need to boost your opponent up that much.
