Report: Minnesota Timberwolves and Rick Adelman Begin Negotiating
It seems like the long coaching search in Minnesota is nearing its end. The Star Tribune is reporting that the Timberwolves and former Rockets coach Rick Adelman have begun negotiating on a contract that would make Adelman the new coach.
I speculated on this coaching search once upon a time and Adelman was my pick. He has had success everywhere he’s been and he can adapt to almost any roster style. He looks to play an uptempo game which will benefit the young roster. Ricky Rubio will be in good hands if Adelman is allowed to help the young point guard develop. The Star Tribune also points out that adding Adelman would be instrumental in keeping Kevin Love, based on the relationship the two have.
If I were David Kahn (thank God I’m not), I would do everything in my power to bring in Adelman. The rebuilding process has been slow, but Adelman can help accelerate that process. The results might not be there right away, but he will have the T’Wolves back in playoff contention sooner rather than later.
