BREAKING: Vikings Hire Alan Williams to Be New Defensive Coordinator
It’s official, Alan Williams will have a new gig in 2012. The former defensive backs coach of the Indianapolis Colts will reunite with former colleague Leslie Frazier in Minnesota as the new defensive coordinator for the Vikings.
Williams would have to be considered some what of a ‘dark horse’ candidate, as most people have probably never heard of him. I think the Vikings brought him in partially because of his past relationship with Frazier, but mainly because he runs the familiar ‘Tampa 2′ defensive scheme. Williams is a young coach who should provide a much needing spark in Minnesota.
There will be much more to come on Alan Williams and the rest of the coaching staff shake-ups in Minnesota as all the details emerge.
