The Minnesota Twins will be the hosts for the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game as well as all the festivities that come with it. The Twins are thrilled about the great opportunity to show off their rather new ball park and the beautiful city it is located in. In fact, Minnesota would like to make it the best MLB All-Star experience in recent memory.

“I know the people in Major League Baseball are excited about it coming to Minnesota, because we have critical mass and a downtown ballpark,” Twins president Dave St. Peter said, according to MinnesotaTwins.com. “We have the ability to do a lot of things within a tight radius, which creates an exciting dynamic.”

MLB will go from New York City, where the 2013 All-Star events were located all over the Big Apple, to downtown Minneapolis where everything will occur in the same vicinity. With all of the festivities located right next to each other, it will be great for the players and their families to enjoy plenty of time together. Not to mention, it will be easier for baseball fans from all over the country to see as much as possible without having to travel very far to see it.

“Indianapolis got rave reviews when it hosted the Super Bowl, and the biggest reason was that everything was downtown,” St. Peter told MinnesotaTwins.com. “And it’s not just great for the media, but great for the league and for the fans coming into town. So we’re going to try to replicate that model and keep everything to a six- to 10-block radius. We have a unique advantage to that because of the location of this ballpark.”

Even though it is still a year away, it is exciting to know that the Twins organization is planning on throwing one heck of a party.
