With an uneven start to the 2015 MLB season, the Toronto Blue Jays find themselves at the bottom of baseball’s most competitive division early in the month of May. Toronto can’t afford to fall too far behind, so they’re going to be quick to make roster moves if something isn’t working. Here are five prospects the Blue Jays could call up in May to give them a boost.

5. A.J. Jimenez, Catcher

Jimenez is off to a dreadful start this season, but he is the only catcher on Toronto's 40-man roster outside of Russell Martin and Josh Thole. If either one of those players gets injured, Jimenez is likely to get called up. Also, if Jimenez can get going offensively, he may be able to push for Thole's job by the end of the month.

4. Andy Burns, Utility Player

Burns is off to a good start in Triple-A this season and he's quite close to reaching his ceiling as a major league utility player. With defensive versatility and a solid bat, Burns could be a nice addition to the Toronto bench if the Blue Jays are looking to add some depth and add a player who can play multiple positions.

3. Rob Rasmussen, Pitcher

Toronto's Triple-A team has a wealth of pitchers having good seasons, but Rasmussen could be the guy they turn to if they want to give their bullpen a boost. The former second-round pick has an ERA under 1.00, and he did get some major league experience last season. Toronto's lefty relievers have not been that impressive this season, so Rasmussen could be a helpful addition to the Blue Jays' bullpen.

Pompey started the season in the big leagues, but he was recently sent down after posting a line of .193/.264/.337 over the first few weeks of the season. However, the Blue Jays do still view him as a part of their future, so he has a chance to earn his way back to the majors if he can put together a couple good weeks in Triple-A. Of course, his return could be expedited if Toronto still isn't getting production from its outfield.

After making five starts in April, the Blue Jays sent Norris back down to Triple-A, although there's a good chance this is just temporary. If Norris is able to put together a few good starts in the minors, Toronto may not hesitate to bring him back to the big leagues as they will be looking for any kind of spark. Norris showed plenty of promise in a few of his starts. With him, it's just a matter of finding consistency.
