BJ Penn has always been an intense fighter- there’s a reason why Dana White knew he was going to have to deal with “one pissed off Hawaiian” after the Georges St. Pierre/Nick Diaz/Carlos Condit/BJ Penn mess. In the latest videos produced by his camp leading up to Penn’s return to the main event at UFC 137 we can see a different side of BJ Penn. He plays with his kid and helps his brother who is just starting out in MMA:
The production is as good as anything that has been done for MMA (UFC Countdown, Alistair Overeem’s series, etc). RVCA is also one of the few MMA merchandise lines whose designs don’t consist primarily of flaming skulls that spit out swords that spit out zombies that spit out more flaming skulls.

Has it ever been explained why 4 brothers are named ‘Jay Dee?’
I believe Jay Dee Penn has 3 sons named Jay Dee. Presumably named after himself. BJ is the youngest, so he’s Baby Jay.
I can’t tell if he’s lost his fire or if he’s just more mature…
